The devil is in the detail!

Updated: Apr 28

Perhaps not quite at the level of fingerprints but every community is unique, an environment created by spaces, materials, design, features, built form, property uses...

As local property developers Wyse Homes work to resepect and enhance these qualities by balancing contextual design cues with the needs of contemporary living.

Highweek has a mixed history of new homes delivery but, in parts, still stands apart from the urban sprawl of Newton Abbot and our aim is to focus on the detail that makes Highweek unique.

Building design varies across the village with no prevelent architectural style suggesting that growth has been slow and based on specific local needs. Rural cottages sit next to victorian villas, converted barns next to contemporary town houses. Whilst there is use of brick in some buildings the most common materials are stone and painted render.

Highweek, as the name suggests, is a settlement high on a hill and, as is typical of settlements with this form of Topography, stone retaining and enclosing property boundary walls are a common feature.

As the development evolves features such as these will contribute to th elocation specific design.
