Architects Apprentice

In collaboration with the local schools we're running an architectural design competition open to all pupils.

At the Howton Road development, Wyse Homes will be delivering a mix of houses and spaces to create a beautiful living environment in which people will be born, grow up, grow old, have adventures, heartbreak, love ... it goes on. Every home will have its own history and it starts with a blank page that we'd like you to fill.

We're inviting all pupils to send us drawings of their deram home and, who knows, maybe even inspire the design of the homes we build.

There are no rules in design but if you're looking for inspiration then look around the village and any houses that inspire you. What materials did the use for the roof? walls, windows? paths?... Are there large open areas of glazing or are there window bars? Is the roof flat or is it sloped and gow steep is it? Are there chimneys?

And what about the spaces in your dream home? How many bedrooms does it have, what other rooms are there? A swimming pool, a games room, a cinema, a gym, and office, what else would you like and how many floors?

Let your imagination run wild. Draw it, paint it, model it, build it in a computer game and send us a screen shot. Plans of rooms like the one above or pictures of how it will look. The more detail the better so have fun.

Prizes: The first prize will be an art set, for the budding architect in you, with two runners up getting a Howton Road 'high viz' vest and hard hat as a souviner.
